International Day Against Queerphobia
The International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia (IDAHOBIT)* is a global moment of solidarity and action for LGBTQIA+ individuals and communities, observed every year on May 17. It brings together individuals, organizations, and governments to raise awareness of the issues facing LGBTQIA+ people and to advocate for laws and policies that protect their rights.
IDAHOBIT is not a campaign, but a decentralized global mobilization. Anyone can organize an event or initiative in their own way, under the shared global theme. Together, local action adds up to a global moment. For more information visit www.may17.org.
(*International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia (IDAHOBIT) is know by a number of names. LOVEboldly has chosen to use the title "International Day Against Queerphobia" while still retaining the acronym IDAHOBIT.)
We asked the LOVEboldly Board and Staff the question: Why do you support ending Queerphobia and LGBTQIA+ discrimination?
Here are their answers.
